Job Description
A multi-million dollar telecom company headquartered in New York is looking for a REMOTE Lead Service Activation Technician to join their field services and provisioning department. The Lead Service Tech can be a senior technician that is open to growing in their career and receiving training on mentoring and training a team of 11 technicians. The Lead Tech will be responsible for providing support to the Field Operations team in such matters as node insertions, equipment configurations, circuit builds, troubleshooting, etc. Your primary work location will be the office or home office, this is not an "in the field" position.
Tasks will include but not limited to, reading and interpreting NetCracker orders, engineering designs, technical schematics and the provisioning test turn-up procedures, and building circuits. Interfacing with ILEC & CLEC to coordinate testing on type II's. Assigning and changing physical ports and port speeds for end users. Working with installation field technicians to test and verify continuity of new orders prior to completion. Provisioning, formatting and coding functionality of Lucent DACS IV & DACS II, Tellabs/Coriant, Cisco Core Devices, Atrica 2140, Ciena. Answering incoming calls from field technicians as well as internal/external customers such as engineering and circuit design. Answering tickets assigned to the queue.
This position will be FULLY REMOTE. This position is slated as a 6-month contract to hire and the salary range is from $65,000-$100,000. If you're interested in learning more about this position apply now!
Required Skills & Experience
-3+ years voice and or data networking experience.
-Experience with DWDM, Sonet, Ethernet, Cisco routing, and switching including platform support for GSR, and ESR components.
-Core Layer I through seven network competencies in IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Uni, and Multicast.
-Strong knowledge to support intelligent transport and managed service solutions for E-line V-Line, E-Lan, VOIP, VPN, internet access, bundled services, and managed routers.
-Thorough understanding and experience in using varied Graphical and Command line Interface Systems, technical schematics, equipment configurations, trouble isolation, etc.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-CCIP, CCNP, certifications preferred.
-Bachelor's degree or comparable field experience.
