Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a hands on IT Manager for a client in the banking industry located in Manhattan, NY. In this role, you will be very hands on as the IT department will be 5 employees including yourself. You will work with about 25 vendors or so as the client does not have any of their IT employees coding in-house. You and the IT team are responsible for assisting 160 internal users along with assisting releases, batches, ect. Additional duties below -



Responsibilities for IT Manager

· Oversee IT operations and supervise systems and IT staff

· Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems)

· Work with vendors in meeting the Bank's requests for automation

· Co-ordinate with Vendors in the pre-installation, installation and post-installation of various systems and platforms. Responsible for keeping software versions up to date.

· Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget

· Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology

· Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance

· Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems

· Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff

· Trouble shoot with Vendors and with staff, if other I T Personnel cannot resolve them

· Assist I T Dept personnel in resolving difficulties during the day's processing and attempting to resolve it in a quick, efficient and timely manner

· Assist Management in providing MIS Reports and responding to any queries

· Trouble shoot any disruption in the Computer Room to minimize the downtime and attempt to bring up the system as quickly as possible

Work with Auditors and Govt Agencies while performing the I T Audit

Required Skills & Experience

*Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

*8+ years' of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects

*Work with various IT environments including iSeries running OS2 and other standard operating systems such as Windows and Linux

*Good experience working with operations

*Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems. Able to take a holistic approach to system deployment

*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization

*Excellent leadership and decision-making skills

*Strong knowledge of project management principles

Previous experience working within IT in the banking industry
