Job Description

A large financial client is seeking consultants to join the Consumer Compliance group within the Internal Audit division. This role will sit at the firm's second line of defense, assessing the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitoring for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducting independent testing; investigating monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leading the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You will focus on supporting the business to ensure flawless execution and mitigation of consumer compliance risks within your areas of oversight. Our consumer compliance monitoring partners with all functional areas of the business and you will have responsibility in identifying, measuring, and mitigating risks



Responsibilities of the role include overseeing and planning specific control tests for 2-3 audits per quarter, understanding the areas of the audit and the risks associated, create presentations/ reports of findings and lead discussions with stakeholders around these risks. The audits will based off of consumer products, such as but not limited to: credit cards, personal loans, personal savings etc.



* Identify and monitor consumer compliance risks associated with the business' use of third parties

* Partner with business to ensure testing and ongoing monitoring associated with technology and procedural change management properly considers and mitigates compliance risks

* Work cross product, where needed to evaluate errors and issues to determine compliance regulatory impact and sufficiency of root cause analysis and remediation

* Support compliance with U.S. consumer financial laws and regulations applicable to lending and point of sale products issued in the United States

* Identify compliance risks associated with business processes and practices

* Participate on cross-functional teams to design processes and capabilities for 2-3 audits/ quarter that conform to US consumer financial laws and regulations

Required Skills & Experience

* 4-5+ years of experience in a internal audit within compliance (NOT IT) preferably within retail banking or consumer products ( credit cards, personal lending, deposit savings)

* 4-year degree in a finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline, and ideally a graduate degree in a related subject

* Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA, CAMS, FRM) is a plus

* Reg Z or Reg W knowledge is a plus

* Experience with Data Analytics is a plus

* In-depth technical knowledge of relevant product areas (e.g. consumer banking products and consumer compliance)

* Experience in managing integrated business second line of defense audit (including specific control tests)

* Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment

* Solid analytical skills
