Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Product Line Director to lead a portfolio of advanced directed energy programs supporting U.S. Government and defense customers. This individual will own product strategy, program execution, financial performance, customer engagement, and lifecycle support from development through deployment and sustainment.

The Product Line Director will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations while maintaining accountability for cost, schedule, technical performance, and customer commitments. This role will also serve as a senior customer interface, driving program growth, production readiness, and the successful transition of next-generation defense technologies into operational use.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Business, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in defense program management, product line management, or complex defense systems leadership
• Experience leading advanced weapons systems, directed energy programs, or other highly technical defense products
• Strong knowledge of program financial management including EACs, forecasting, margin management, earned value concepts, and execution metrics
• Experience working directly with U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, NNSA, and/or other U.S. Government defense customers
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
• Experience managing full program lifecycle from development through production and sustainment
• Strong customer-facing leadership experience with executive-level communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, Physics, or related field)
• Experience with High Energy Laser (HEL), Directed Energy, Counter-UAS, or advanced weapons systems
• Background supporting rapid prototyping, operational demonstrations, and fielding activities
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition pathways, OTAs, Rapid Capability Offices, and transition-to-program-of-record efforts
• Experience scaling products from development into production environments
• Experience supporting sustainment planning, field support, and lifecycle management for deployed systems
• Existing Secret or higher security clearance
