Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Civil Engineer for a large environmental engineering consulting firms to sit in Albuquerque, NM. Response, assessment and evaluation services (RAES) are parts of a larger program associated with abandoned mines. You will support the program in the following areas; Complete engineering evaluations and cost analysis for removal actions at abandoned mines. Engineering design and construction oversight activities. Recommend adaptations and modifications engineering methods using independent judgment. Oversee field teams and be familiar with heavy equipment, construction means and methods, and management activities. Learn and implement radiological monitoring techniques and site characterization studies. Execute assignments that have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. This position requires roughly 20 -35% travel. Field work anticipated to be in remote areas of Arizona and New Mexico. You must be able to: Carry field equipment (35 to 40 pounds) and personal protective gear as needed. Work outdoors during all seasons, both hot and cold, and walk on various terrain. Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license is required.

Minimum Requirements

5-10 years of civil engineering experience.

BS in engineering (civil, environmental, or other relevant discipline) or radiation health physics from an accredited college or university

Familiarity with engineering design and construction oversight is desired.

AutoCAD Civil 3D experience

Strong leadership skills and ability to lead small sampling teams without direct supervision

Willing to conduct field work in remote areas of NM and AZ

Desired Skills

Familiarity with naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) or technologically enhanced natural occurring radioactive materials (TENORM) in uranium mining, oil and gas, or other industries
