Job Description
Our client, a growing construction management firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day project execution, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a highly autonomous role requiring someone who can successfully run projects with minimal owner involvement while serving as the primary point of contact onsite for clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead construction projects from initial planning through final completion.
• Manage all onsite construction activities, including demolition, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) coordination, renovations, and new construction work.
• Serve as the primary onsite representative for clients, owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate, supervise, and hold subcontractors accountable for quality, safety, and productivity.
• Conduct regular project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents to ensure accurate execution.
• Partner with external estimating firms during pre-construction and budgeting phases.
• Identify and recommend qualified subcontractors and trade partners when needed.
• Proactively resolve construction issues, schedule conflicts, and field challenges.
• Monitor project budgets, change orders, material procurement, and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with all local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Perform punch list management and oversee project closeout activities.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Construction Manager, Project Manager, or similar role.
• Proven experience managing projects independently from start to finish.
• Strong background in commercial, retail, mixed-use, multifamily/apartment, or renovation projects.
• Experience coordinating MEP trades and managing demolition and construction activities.
• Ability to effectively manage clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and field operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience overseeing apartment complex, multifamily, retail, and commercial construction projects.
• Existing network of reliable subcontractors and trade partners.
• Familiarity with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
Experience working within a construction management or owner-representative environment.
