Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Electronic Warfare engineering organization of a defense company in Clifton. NJ. They responsible for large-scale Electronic Warfare system development and execution. The team is hiring someone who can step in and own the full lifecycle of sustainment and repair efforts for fielded hardware systems, especially in cases where repairs are high priority and customers require a fast turnaround.

On a day-to-day basis, this person will manage incoming repair work from the field, coordinate technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, secure the right engineering resources, assign and track repair actions, and ensure repaired systems are delivered correctly and on time. The work spans system, hardware, and firmware-level issues and requires close coordination with systems integration and test teams, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other technical stakeholders to make sure the right test benches, support plans, and execution paths are in place. This person will be expected to bring both hands-on technical depth and strong project leadership, driving execution across the repair/sustainment lifecycle while also identifying trends in hardware support, improving responsiveness, and helping the team meet mission, customer, and delivery expectations. The ideal candidate will be someone who can quickly establish credibility, lead through urgency, and successfully coordinate engineering activity to deliver measurable outcomes in a fast-paced Electronic Warfare environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active Secret Clearance and ability to work in a secure DoD/defense environment supporting mission-critical Electronic Warfare programs.
• 10+ years of engineering/project engineering experience with demonstrated success leading technical execution across complex hardware-based programs, sustainment efforts, or repair lifecycle activities.
• Strong domain experience in Electronic Warfare, avionics, defense electronics, or related government systems, including exposure to electrical systems/components, firmware, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Hands-on leadership experience driving execution across cross-functional engineering teams, including systems, electrical, mechanical, integration, and test, while ensuring priorities, resources, and deliverables stay on track.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate with internal engineering teams, leadership, test organizations, and customer/stakeholder groups on high-priority issues and repair status.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• Experience supporting hardware sustainment, field returns, depot repair, or root-cause investigations for complex defense systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development environments, especially where hardware, firmware, and systems engineering must coordinate closely.
• Exposure to digital receivers, signal processing, RF/electronic systems, or warfare systems.
Experience working in the left side of the V-model while partnering with integration/test teams to support planning, troubleshooting, verification, and closure.
