Job Description

We are seeking a fast-paced, highly organized Medical Receptionist to join a busy endocrinology practice in Jersey City. This role is fully onsite and ideal for someone with prior medical office experience who thrives in a high-volume patient environment and is comfortable communicating across phone, text, and email.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients in a busy medical office
• Greet and check in patients efficiently and professionally
• Manage high patient volume (up to 30/40 patients per day)
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
• Understand and manage referral processes
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Communicate with patients via phone, text, and email
• Answer incoming calls and respond to messages promptly
• Perform general medical office administrative tasks, including faxing and file management
• Redirect and guide patients as needed while keeping front-desk workflow moving
Maintain a friendly but firm demeanor to keep the office running smoothly

Required Skills & Experience

• Bilingual required: English (primary) and Spanish
• Medical or healthcare office experience required
• Endocrinology background is a plus, but not required
• Strong understanding of:
○ Medical office operations
○ Insurance processes and patient coverage
○ Referrals and scheduling workflows
• Must be resourceful, proactive, and detail-oriented
• Able to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Comfortable checking in 30+ patients per day
• Strong typing skills and comfort with texting and digital communication
