Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to lead security engineering activities across the left side of the V‑Model, with a primary focus on requirements definition, system decomposition, security architecture development, and technical planning. This role is responsible for translating mission and security objectives into well‑defined, testable system architectures that guide downstream design, implementation, and verification efforts.
The ideal candidate brings a systems‑thinking mindset, deep experience performing early‑phase engineering work, and the ability to break down complex, security‑critical systems into clear, executable technical plans. Hands‑on experience with Python is required to support analysis, modeling, automation, and prototyping.

Required Skills & Experience
-8+ years of experience in systems engineering or security systems engineering roles supporting complex, mission‑critical systems.
- Active Secret Clearance
-Demonstrated expertise working on the left side of the V‑Model, with hands‑on experience in:
-Requirements development
Functional decomposition
Architectural design
Up‑front technical planning
-Strong experience developing system and security architectures for complex systems (software‑intensive systems preferred).
-Proficiency with Python for engineering analysis, automation, or modeling.
-Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, and defensible engineering artifacts.
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Familiarity with secure systems engineering standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, INCOSE practices).
Experience performing architecture trade studies or model‑based systems engineering (MBSE).
