Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join our Pharma client’s Commercial AI Product organization. They are building new GenAI capabilities to support their Field Reimbursement Managers and this individual will be responsible for ad hoc analysis using PySpark and SQL, performing data quality control (QC) across datasets and pipelines, and participating in code reviews to uphold engineering standards. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or J&J data domains is strongly preferred. This role requires a strong balance of technical execution, analytical thinking, and data governance mindset.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL, including the ability to perform ad hoc analysis directly against large-scale datasets in a Commercial Life Science environment
Proven experience performing data quality control (QC), including data validation, reconciliation, and issue investigation across multiple data products
Solid understanding of data engineering best practices, including version control, modular code design, and documentation standards
Experience participating in or leading code reviews, with the ability to identify performance, scalability, and data integrity risks
Deep Familiarity with Commercial Pharma Data – Claims, Rx, IQVIA/Symphony Health/Komodo

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in highly matrixed enterprise environments
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (AWS) and distributed data processing architectures
Understanding of data governance, auditability, and compliance considerations in regulated industries
