Job Description
The Data Steward will act as the subject matter expert for MedTech supply chain data, identifying the correct data sources, understanding how data flows across systems, and documenting where data lives and how it is used. They will assist in defining and maintaining data quality rules within Digital applications, investigate errors, and partner with business and technical teams to resolve data issues. This role will also support data governance efforts, contribute to the creation of a governance board, and help evaluate whether existing platforms are the right fit for new data solutions. A major part of this role involves detective-style investigation to build a foundational knowledge base for all supply chain data sources.
Project Overview
This role contributes to a major digital transformation initiative focused on strengthening data quality, governance, and traceability across Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech supply chain systems. The Data Steward will define data standards, create high‑value quality controls, and construct a sustainable governance structure that ensures long-term accuracy and reliability of enterprise data. Their work will directly support improved decision-making, operational consistency, and readiness for future data and platform modernization efforts.

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Requirements
3–5+ years’ experience as a Data Steward or Data Analyst supporting data quality or governance
Strong understanding of ERP supply chain data structures; experience with S/4HANA preferred
Hands-on experience defining and maintaining data quality rules and automated validation checks
Ability to trace data lineage, map data sources, and document data flows across systems
Experience working with supply chain or master data and collaborating with cross-functional teams
