Job Description
Insight Global's Telecom customer is looking for a resource to serve as an Ethernet Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network management design, focusing on creating and validating processes for network turn-up and performance testing. Responsibilities include designing protocols, defining APIs, and establishing internal processes for new network elements, as well as hands-on testing and validation in a lab environment using tools for test automation, performance monitoring, and security compliance. This individua will collaborate with teams to ensure accurate requirements, maintain strong communication, and deliver clear documentation. Role requires deep knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, experience with platforms such as Sienna and RED, and a systems engineering background. This day to day will typically be about 60% design and 40% testing/validation.

Required Skills & Experience
-Strong hands-on experience in a network lab environment with a deep understanding of L2 & L3 protocols (Ethernet services, switching, IP Routing)
-Strong network design & management skills
-Ability to design and document management APIs (REST/JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger), data models, and end-to-end “turn-up” processes for new network elements (“white boxes”), including required inputs, sequencing, rollback, and operational runbooks.
-Hands-on test automation & performance validation experience of network designs
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Previous experience working for a service provider or vendor.
