Job Description
Insight Global's looking for a seasoned network engineer for one of their largest telecom customers. This role sits within the network design team and is responsible for integrating new network devices and capabilities (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) into an existing large‑scale wireline network environment. The position requires deep expertise in L2/L3/L4 wireline networking protocols, strong familiarity with vendor documentation and data sheets, and a solid understanding of how Tier‑1 service provider networks operate. The individual will define and document clear technical requirements for development teams, explain those requirements, and validate designs through proof‑of‑concept testing in a lab environment, with hands‑on testing comprising approximately 35% of the role. The position will also spend roughly 50% of the time interfacing with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams, requiring excellent communication skills, leadership, and a broad, end‑to‑end view of network architecture and operations.

Required Skills & Experience
-Strong hands-on experience and deep understanding of L2/L3/L4 wireline networking protocols
-Strong network design & management skills
-Ability to design and document management APIs (REST/JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger), data models, and end-to-end “turn-up” processes for new network elements.
-Strong experience with test automation & proof of concept testing / performance testing & validation in a lab environment
-Relevant industry experience at an enterprise level
