Were seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Prudentials external-facing API and middleware team. This team plays a critical role in integrating third-party platforms and enabling modern, scalable, cloud-native systems across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with backend development, is fluent in cloud technologies, and thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions using modern design patterns and architectural principles
Implement and maintain even-driven and message-based systems
Work in AWS environments using best practices for infrastructure, deployment, and automation
Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Designers, and Engineers to refine requirements and deliver robust features
Collaborate with other internal domains such as the claims and billing teams
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to Prudentials standards
Develop and execute unit, integration, and functional tests; troubleshoot and resolve issues
Contribute to DevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code
Apply emerging technologies and best practices to continuously improve software quality and performance
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and innovation
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (Java) and one scripting language (Python or JavaScript)
