Our client is a leading global provider of test and assurance solutions for networks, cybersecurity, and positioning. The Senior Cost Accountant will be reporting to the Sr. Revenue and Cost Manager in a fast-paced, exciting, hi-technology environment. The Senior Cost/Revenue Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of inventory and cost analysis for North American businesses, including additional support for the Revenue team. Additional responsibilities include:
Analysis of inventory and cost transaction details, including preparing journal adjustments and monthly account reconciliations.
Preparation and presentation of inventory and cost trend information in management reports and for monthly calls with the Supply Chain team.
Quarterly analysis of slow-moving and obsolete inventory, providing summary to business partners.
Monthly analysis of CAPEX equipment and equipment on loan for inventory reserve adjustments.
Oversee standard costing, cost revaluations, and royalty accruals.
Analysis of sales orders for appropriate revenue recognition following IFRS guidelines, reviewing purchase orders, statements of work, customer terms and conditions, and other contractual documents.
Work with Sales and Sales Administration to understand complex deals.
Ensure data governance and quality control for completeness and accuracy of data around revenue and cost of sales.
Gross and product margin analysis.
Review applicable processes, propose, and implement process improvements as appropriate. Continually look to improve "Best Business Practices."
Budget to Actual COS analysis
Solve problems relating to orders, revenue, and cost of sales.
R&D pre-production material spend analysis.
Warranty provision calculation.
Material absorption analysis & true-up.
Work in fast moving, deadline driven environment.
Set a consistent and standard way to measure and present KPIs for the department.
Strategic business partnering with Supply Chain, Product Development, FP&A, IT, and Accounting
Compensation:
$25/hr to $35/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of previous Cost Accounting experience.
Manufacturing and intercompany accounting required.
Must have advanced-level Excel skills.
High proficiency with JDE E1 ERP/Accounting, Cognos or other reporting tool, and Salesforce or other CRM comparable system.
Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a consistent degree of accuracy.
Strong oral & written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with revenue accounting a plus.
Experience with PowerBI tools
Advanced experience with JD Edwards
