Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Engineer for long term, multi-year contract with a large global financial institution. You will be a part of the banks Enterprise Risk Finance Technology division specifically supporting development and ETL work within their Liquidity platform. This platform processes over 400 million end of day positions for the Liquidity teams daily. This role involves heavy hands on coding and development in SQL, production, and baseline level testing.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for designing and developing batch/ETL interfaces using the proprietary meta data driven approach as part of the LIBRA Interface Team. You will be responsible for maintenance and support of the existing interface processes including investigation of issues and production troubleshooting. Additionally, you will maintain the data lineage to facilitate the end to end traceability as there are changes to the ETL including Liquidity report specific derivations.

Relevant Skills and Experience:
5+ years of development experience in SQL, Oracle Exadata, and PL/SQL including strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge about Oracle architecture and processes.
Highly proficient in SQL including 2+ years of experience in SQL Performance tuning
Experience implementing ETL solutions for large volumes of data by applying various data warehouse modeling techniques such as Star Schema, Data partitioning, Data compression, or Direct path loads. Experience implementing ETL solutions that maximize re-usable components and services that incorporate versioning, reconciliation and exception handling.
Previous experience in financial services
Analytical skills to perform technical and functional analysis with strong communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience and expertise in SQL coding and development
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with Oracle
- 1+ years of recent experience supporting large scale data projects within financial services
- Strong experience implementing ETL solutions, especially working with Oracle and SQL

Knowledge of Python and Apache Airflow
Hadoop experience
Knowledge of Angular
Experience working in regulatory projects is strongly desirable
Experience working in Containers
Experience in CICD, Jenkins, Git
Experience working in Agile teams
Knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms
Experience with Analytic reporting tools like Tableau
Knowledge of Oracle VPD
