Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for a Water Screen Inspector to join one of our Engineering and Construction clients. This opening is located in Edison, NJ to support a "Raw Water Pump Station Traveling Water Screen Replacement Project" to replace water screens from the 1960s. These screening systems are used at powerplants, drinking water facilities, and other heavy industrial sites where large volumes of raw water comes through.

The inspector is expected to be onsite from 7 AM - 3:30 PM working alongside a general contractor and Senior Inspector. The primary responsibility in this role will be to perform compliance inspections, maintenance, and replacements related to construction activities. Other specific duties includes reading construction drawings/specs, ensuring compliance with health/safety and building codes, performing water screen related inspections, tracking bid items in Excel, thorough documentation via daily field reports with photo attachments, and review/provide recommendations on proposed change orders and execute approved change orders. It is required that this person be reliable, punctual, a good communicator & has the ability to showcase strong documentation skills. A valid driver's license, clean background check and drug test is required to be considered for this position.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience with water/wastewater related construction experience in inspection or maintenance
- Ability to read construction drawings and specs
- Active OSHA 10 certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Demonstrated ability of detailed documentation
- Reliable and excellent communication
