Job Description

An employer is seeking a Cloud Architect for a large pharmaceutical client. This individual will be Reporting to the lead Architect and will be mentored by this individual. They will work in tandem with infrastructure engineering and development teams to identify and implement optimal Azure-based solutions.

- Work to migrate on-prem applications into Azure

- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance

- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies

- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design

- Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines

- Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Azure solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures

Required Skills & Experience

- Azure and Kubernetes deployment management experience (architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions)

o Azure AKS Exp (Docker, Hadoop, AlertManager)

o Knowledge of web services, API, REST, RPC, and DevOps

- Linux, SQL, MongoDB, Oracle experience

- Tech Lead/Enterprise architecture exp -- how Kubernetes is deployed and managed -- how diff apps in docker containers are deployed (database architecture)

- Experience in AKS is required

- Experience in GxP systems, Computer System Validation and consistent track record in the support of FDA regulated systems and business.

- Proven ability to collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts

- Solid understanding of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies fundamentals.

- Experience with hybrid cloud (cloud, on prem) infrastructure connectivity, VPN, API, AD connect

- Experience with VMWare, VSphere, vSAN with knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks and operating systems

- Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server platforms (Windows OS, IIS, MS SQL Server, and Active Directory)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- NJ onsite preferred

- Pharma experience

o Certification in Microsoft and other Cloud Technologies are a plus
