Job Description
We are looking for a Senior BSA to join a fast paced and growing brokerage/trading organization within a large financial institution. This team is responsible for a next generation trading platform that is going to be crucial to the company's future success. It has recently been launched into production and is receiving so much traction and interest that the team has to grow significantly and quickly. In order to handle the incoming demands, the leader of the Bookkeeping Squad is looking for a right hand on the team. This individual should have an in depth background in business analysis but should also have an understanding and knowledge of brokerage and trading specifically middle and back office trading. This squad is about 15 people today consisting of developers, QA, product owners and BAs. This individual should expect to receive high level requirements from the leader of the team and be required to drill those down with the developers and create detailed stories. He or she will need to do data mapping, have strong researching capabilities, know how to extract basic data using SQL and general analysis work. He or she should also understand back and middle office operations and trade process. Ideally, this candidate would understand tax reporting, financial reporting and margins. He or she will be responsible for clear and consistent communication with leadership. At first, he or she will be trained but eventually we would like this individual to take ownership of projects fully.
This individual also needs to be technical and have a background in taking domain requirements and translating into technical specifications for developers. He or she should have the ability to write SQL queries and work in database to perform data validation.
Requirements of this role include:
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows and create detailed documentation including business requirements, process flows, use cases, user stories & functional designs for technical teams.
Collaborate with technology teams to design solutions that meet business needs.
Hold strong understanding of
1. equity trading lifecycle. (Must have)
2. margin trading (Nice to have)
3. bookkeeping, clearing & settlement (Must Have)
Prioritize and work with various teams simultaneously on multiple project initiatives.
Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions.
Write SQL queries and work in database to perform data validation.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7-10 years of experience as a BSA or SA
- In depth understanding of brokerage, trading and back/middle office trade operations (book keeping & margins)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to do basic SQL queries and data manipulation
- Experience with user acceptance testing and validation
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Margin, tax/financial reporting expertise
- Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience
- Income Tax system, particularly as it relates to tax informational form filings (e.g., 1099-B, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1042-S, etc.)
- FINRA Broker dealer reporting (FOCUS, Net-capital 15c3-1, Customer reserve 15c3-3, etc.)
