What is the specific title of the position? Sr. Software Engineer

Work location specify UHG/UHC/Optum location or remote/telecommute? Remote/TeleCommute

Work hours ex. 9am-5pm day/night shifts rotating shifts etc? 9AM -5PM and will have rotational weekend support.

Please provide a summary of the project/initiative that this candidate will be working on?
Analyze understand the platform ecosystem look at root cause problems and come with plan for solving them through automation enhancements and self-service.
Leading the Support team and also play a role as DevOps engineer. Will play a pivotal role in understanding the platform addressing issues coming in documenting things updating FAQs and working on enhancement items through engineering excellence methods.

Please describe the team the candidate will be working with - how many members? What is the break-down of the teams skill sets ex: 1 PM 4 Developers etc.?

Strong team of 10 team members. 1 -? Delivery Manager 1-? Architect 8-? Devops engineers 4 in US and 4 in India.

What experience will set candidates apart from one another?

Leading and implementing Tier 2 support process for the platform team. Setting up SLAs updating FAQs setting up alerts on SLA breach ability to creating operational dashboardsetc.

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis?
1. ServiceNow/Github Issues -? Staying on top of the issues coming in and be available to address issue within the established SLA.
2. Ability to understand the E2E of our platform underlying technology code concepts nad design.
3. Ability to work with Agile scrum team and work on enhancements along with primary support.
4. Client first mindset and have excellent communication and documentation and closure.
5. Updating FAQ and other relevant documents and working with Tenants/Vendors to resolve and track the open issues.

What does the ideal candidate background look like ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.?
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of related IT work experience as a developer engineer architect or similar role corporate employer full time
  • 3 years experience working with Python and deep understanding of DevOps practices automations pipelines for build.
  • 2 years work Exposure in Azure cloud
  • 3 years work experience with ServiceNow experience
  • Must have a Product/Platform centric view on things. Customer centric approach.
  • Strong Understanding of SRE SLA SLI Resiliency etc.
  • Available for rotational weekend support
  • Ability to create operational dashboard run retro analysis on issues etc.
  • Experience with Platform/DevOps engineering
  • Proven ability to run end to end operations for an emerging platform
  • Demonstrated willingness and capacity to mentor junior engineers

  • Ability to work with vendors to resolve issues or find workaround solutions.
