Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Senior Infrastructure Engineer in support of one of our federal clients at Nellis AFB. This candidate will be supporting and be responsible for serving as the critical bridge between the client and the government customer. The day‑to‑day will include:
Lead the design, build, and security of infrastructure across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, including server provisioning, connectivity, and hardening.
Serve as the technical face of the team and government partner, acting as a trusted advisor to the customer and helping stand up a new group.
Define and execute the transition from current‑state to future‑state architecture, bridging legacy systems to scalable, mission‑aligned cloud solutions.
Architect and operate secure, high‑availability ISR platforms across AWS, Azure, and multi‑cloud environments, including JWICS/AFSCI‑compliant systems.
Provide senior technical leadership and mentorship, collaborating with data scientists, ISR analysts, and operators while ensuring performance, resilience, and automation across infrastructure and data pipelines.
Compensation: $69/hr. to $74/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience designing and deploying cloud architectures in platforms such as AWS or Azure.
7+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and disseminating large datasets.
Experience automating workflows and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Proficiency with container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes for application orchestration and scalability.
Knowledge of advanced data visualization platforms, including Elastic Stack, Grafana, Kibana, or Tableau.
Experience integrating AI/ML models into data workflows using cloud-native tools, such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML.
Hands-on experience implementing cloud-based security practices, including encryption and IAM role configuration.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).
Security Clearance: TS/SCI eligibility.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting intelligence or working with ISR or Intelligence Community (IC) platforms and workflows.
Knowledge of geospatial data visualization tools, such as GeoServer or cloud-native GIS solutions.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles in cloud environments.
AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator certification.
Experience operating in contested, degraded, or operationally constrained (CDO) communication environments.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
