Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an experienced, strategic Director of People and Culture to join an impactful Las Vegas-based nonprofit organization focused on ending domestic and sexual violence in Southern Nevada. This nonprofit focuses on support across the entire continuum of violence, starting at prevention and concluding with empowerment.
In this role, the Director of People and Culture will own both tactical and strategic HR initiatives. Tactical responsibilities include administrative tasks, compliance, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding hiring, workers compensation, escalations, etc. Strategic responsibilities include retention strategy, employee growth strategy, onboarding processes, etc.
For the Director of People and Culture to be successful in this role, it is imperative that this individual have experience with both the tactical and strategic side of HR, in addition to the ability to consistently handle the subject matter of this role. Though the Director will be managing internal employees only, the nonprofit's mission of supporting sexual violence and trafficking victims can be emotionally exhausting for those that are not fulfilled by this type of work.
Key responsibilities:
- Executive Leadership: Serves as the executive leader for the human resources function inside nonprofit
- Talent Management: Develops innovative, successful strategies and tactics to attract, retain, and develop organizational talent
- Culture Development: Serves in the lead role of shaping company culture, ensuring that values are understood and lived across the organization
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Create innovative processes to attract and support a diverse and inclusive workforce that understands, accepts, and values differences between people and supports collaborative, caring, and respectful relationships
- Compensation Systems: Develops and implements highly organized and informed policies and programs for market-appropriate compensation and benefits programs
- Performance Management: Develops and administers meaningful programs to measure and manage organizational performance
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of human resource experience, balancing both tactical and strategic initiatives
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources management
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, wage and hour laws, and regulations
- Experience working for a nonprofit and understanding the difference in systems between for-profit and nonprofit organizations
- Comfort and experience with supporting employees that specialize in crisis intervention with confidence in ability to handle tough client situations
