Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in the St. Louis, MO area to lead electrical design and project delivery for moderate to complex building projects, including larger, high-complexity work with limited senior oversight. This role provides project management and technical leadership across electrical engineering analysis, design, and implementation. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, architects, project managers, and consultants to develop practical, code-compliant solutions that deliver strong client outcomes.
In addition to technical leadership, you'll support project budgets, mentor and train team members, and help ensure projects meet schedule, scope, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead electrical system design and analysis for building projects using engineering tools and software.
• Produce code-compliant designs, specifications, and calculations aligned with company standards.
• Conduct site assessments and develop technical analyses and reports.
• Work directly with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical solutions, and maintain strong relationships.
• Perform design reviews and quality control checks to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor, train, and motivate engineering staff.
• Assist with resolving field issues with limited senior oversight.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and contribute to innovation initiatives.
• Promote safety by identifying and mitigating electrical system risks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Participate in project interviews, presentations, and business development efforts.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience (8+ preferred) in the building design consulting industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles including: Circuit theory, Electromagnetism, Power systems, Electronics related to building electrical systems
Knowledge of IES standards and industry resources such as: NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI)
- Advanced proficiency with specification development and editing tools (eSPECS)
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu.
- Ability to perform final quality control reviews within area of expertise.
- Strong client relationship development and business development skills.
- Proven ability to mentor, train, and lead technical staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
