Job Description
A client in the St. Charles, MO area is looking for a Systems Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for analyzing customer requirements and developing comprehensive reliability engineering programs to meet defined reliability objectives. The position involves allocating quantitative reliability requirements to design teams, performing reliability predictions, and evaluating how projected product usage impacts overall system reliability. Key responsibilities include conducting failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), developing mathematical and computer models to predict and improve system performance, and identifying potential safety risks to support design improvements. The engineer maintains and administers reliability tracking systems such as FRACAS, participates in failure review boards with internal and external stakeholders, and collaborates closely with cross-functional design teams to ensure reliability goals are achieved. Additionally, they interface with customers and leadership during design reviews, define test profiles and success criteria for environmental testing, and contribute to proposal development and subcontractor evaluations. The role also includes reviewing engineering specifications and drawings to recommend design enhancements, supporting proposal efforts related to reliability and maintainability, and providing technical support across multiple advanced defense and weapons programs.

Required Skills & Experience
9+ years of Systems Engineering experience (experience in a related role can suffice)
Experience with Reliability, Maintainability, and System Health engineering principles
Experience with Failure Reporting, analysis, and corrective action systems
Failure analysis experience
Bachelors degree or higher in STEM field
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience in a Systems Safety, or Relibility, Maintainability, System Health role
Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Reliability and maintainability predictions, or reliability testing experience
Experience using the Systems Engineering V implementing a System onto a product
Experience supporting weapons and weapon programs
Experience gathering systems engineering requirements and verification
Masters in a STEM field
