Job Description

An expanding grocery chain is looking for an innovative and experienced Senior Technical Lead to join their Emerging Technologies team. The group is responsible for driving the future of in-store automation, smart devices, digital shelf technology, and item integration across the enterprise. This role will serve as the technical leader within the team, working closely with their Enterprise Architect and cross-functional partners to define and execute the technical roadmap. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, ability to lead conversation with various business stakeholders, and the leadership to translate vision into scalable, sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
● Serve as the technical lead and mentor for developers and analysts within the Emerging
Technologies team.
● Partner with the Enterprise Architect to define technical strategy, architecture standards,
and modernization initiatives.
● Design, develop, and maintain integrations and applications using current technologies
of .NET Core, Python, Talend, RESTful APIs, Oracle, and GCP.
● Lead POCs and pilot projects for next-generation retail technologies.
● Evaluate, recommend, and implement new frameworks, platforms, and methodologies
that will future-proof the client’s technology ecosystem.
● Help define best practices for cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, testing automation,
and API governance.
● Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology strategy with operational
goals and customer experience initiatives.
● Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of all systems and integrations.
● Foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the
team.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3+ years in
a technical leadership or solution design role.
- Strong experience with:
○ Python, C#.NET and React cloud native application development
○ Serverless computing and cloud-native frameworks
○ Talend or similar ETL/data integration platforms
○ RESTful API / Web Services design and development
○ Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
○ Cloud platforms - GCP
● Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through
deployment, with continued ownership of ongoing production support and application
maintenance.
● Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
● Ability to work 3 days a week on site in Maryland Heights, Missouri
