Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a VC Director to provide senior-level leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the virtual construction function. The ideal candidate will manage and mentor a small team of 3–4 leaders, holding them accountable for performance while maintaining the ability to step in and cover across roles when needed. This role is forward-looking and focused on the health, scalability, and effectiveness of the organization—not just day-to-day production—while ensuring quality, speed, and consistency across all virtual construction deliverables.
On a day-to-day basis, the ideal candidate will oversee department-wide processes including issue tracking, manpower planning, estimate validation, and production packages, with a strong pulse on current staffing versus future workforce needs. They will lead cross-functional communication at an enterprise level, manage high-level budgeting and resource forecasting, and ensure alignment across virtual construction disciplines such as laser scanning, construction logistics, submittals, and related software platforms. This individual will bring 5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment, with a background focused on leading teams, managing quality control, and driving outcomes rather than performing hands-on engineering work.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a manager within Virtual Construction
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction
Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Knowledgeable in VC platforms (Revit, Revizto), coordination workflows, and field layout technologies (RTS/Trimble)
Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary VC teams, both salaried and union, based primarily in Mechanical Sheet Metal, Piping, and Plumbing.
