Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Component, Assembly, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Engineer to support one of our aviation customers in St. Louis, Missouri. This individual will be tasked with working along side aircraft platform and weapon teams to identify material and components for these essential systems. You will be tasked with validating and ensuring these materials are compliant with MIL-STD's. Other responsibilities include:
Conduct obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using Component Monitoring and Surveillance Tools, Predictive Obsolescence Systems, OEM/Supplier surveys, etc
Monitor Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts and provide obsolescence status report to the programs and government customers (Navy, Air Force, DoE, etc.)
Develop obsolescence mitigation resolution options and business case analyses supporting the recommendations.

Compensation:
$44/hr to 49/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Aerospace
- Experience/insight with one or more of the following: Obsolescence Management, DMS, Parts Management, managing Bills of Material (BOMs), researching Alternate components.
- Knowledgeable of basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transformers, connectors, integrated circuits, etc.) and how to research alternate components using data sheets and other Internet resources
- Strong evidence of ability to work as part of a team and familiarity with the idea of working within a hierarchal organization
- Good writing and communication skills in addition to a focus on attention to detail.
- Understanding the concept of obsolete parts and evaluating alternate parts

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in any military aerospace discipline.
- Component evaluation experience with industry/military standards (SAE, Mil-specs, ASTMs, IEEE…)
- Experience with SOWS/ SSOWs or ensuring deliverables for customers
- Experience with component level design and part selection, including both “from scratch” designs and searching for alternate part substitutions within an established system/circuit.
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and parts, any manufacturing experience
- Experience incorporating Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) lab testing and qualification
- Familiarity with MIL-STD's (MIL-STD-3018 or MIL-SDT-11991)
