Job Description
A client of Insight Global's is seeking to add a dynamic individual for the role of the Drafting Specialist to its growing team in the Kansas City, MO area. As leading building envelope contractor, this company designs, installs, and services roofing, facade, glazing, and waterproofing systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
The Drafting Specialist would produce 2D drawings consistent with high standards that will be used for design approval, shop fabrication, and field installation. This candidate will utilize AutoCAD, Revit and/or Inventor to create drawings or BIM models for a variety of projects such as large high rises, school buildings, government facilities, and sporting complexes. The Drafting Specialist collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure drawings are constructible, code‑compliant, and aligned with project scope, schedules, and quality standards. A majority of the responsibilities for this position relate to producing detailed shop drawings, layout drawings, and construction details for roofing, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, waterproofing, and related building envelope systems.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years experience in 2D AutoCAD
Any 3D drafting experience - Revit is highly recommended
Excellent technical computer skills – CAD & Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Background in glass/glazing, metal, waterproofing and roofing design experience highly preferred
Tekla steel detailing background
