Job Description

An employer is looking to add an Oracle DBA to their team. This person can sit remotely but ideally they would sit in St. Louis, MO or Charlotte, NC and work 3 days on-site, 2 days remote. This person will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of production and non-production databases. This personThey will act as a consultant to internal application teams and be responsible for building out new environments and adding to existing environments. It will be their job to understand the requirements, put together a cost estimator/plan and present that back to the application team for approval. They will work with the data center teams to get the equipment stood up and then they will install Oracle on the machines, get the necessary applications loaded and any other requests the team has made. They will set up the environment from scratch and will be responsible for ensuring that backup, monitoring, storage, etc. are set up correctly. Once everything is set up correctly they will pass this off to the operation support team. Their environment consists of 1,600 Oracle databases, versions 12c, 18c, and 19c.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience working as an Oracle DBA

12c minimum, 18c and 19c preferred

Experience working with Goldengate and Data Guard for replication and transformation

Experience supporting 500+ databases at a time

Setting up new environments from scratch or enhancing existing environments (this includes troubleshooting, upgrades, migrations, patching, tuning, etc.)

Database vulnerability management experience, where they are responding to vulnerabilities and working with vendors to get them resolved. (the client is using Qualys and Archer for vulnerability management and reporting)

Experience working with Exadata
