Job Description
A client of IGs is looking for five Welders/Fitters to perform various welding and pipe fabrication tasks, including weld preparation, welding, finishing operations, and fitting fabricated pipe and tanks according to customer drawings, specifications, and instructions. Work involves multiple welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) and fabrication of carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials. Reports to the Production or Pipe Shop Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques and multiple processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW).
- Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, ISO drawings, and weld requirement symbology.
- Prepare and fit pipe and tank components; cut and bevel pipe using saws or beveling machines.
- Drill and punch holes; fasten seams or joints with welds or bolts to assemble or repair components.
- Knowledge of wire and filler materials for various steel alloys, aluminum, and exotic materials.
- Calculate dimensions and verify measurements using conventional and precision instruments (e.g., weld gauges).
- Perform finish grinding, deburring, and smoothing using manual and power tools.
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on welding equipment.
- Accurately record time and job details for costing purposes.
- Adhere to safety and housekeeping policies at all times.
- Ability to fit two-hole flanges and make accurate pipe cut lengths.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel.

Required Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Welding certification preferred with a minimum of 2 years of welding and/or pipe fabrication experience.
- Ability to anticipate and resolve potential fabrication or welding issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Observance of all company policies and procedures is expected at all times.
