Job Description
The primary responsibility for this position is to provide desktop computer support for users in a Microsoft Windows environment in the Jackson MS area. Sites supported include the Jackson area and all MS remote support locations. Primary support will be for local users and will include support for remote customer offices as needed. Other responsibilities include mobile device support, first level LAN and WAN networking, and Server hands on support. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and technical skills are all qualities of a successful candidate for this position.
Key responsibilities will include:
. Performing hands-on and remote fixes at the desktop level including installing and upgrading
software installing hardware and configuring systems and applications
. Performing IT related tasks that include running hardware diagnostics troubleshooting
hardware and printer functionality, configuring hardware for new users, maintaining
computer equipment and supplies inventory
. Performing functions related to personnel on-boarding and off-boarding
. Coordinating equipment repairs with vendors including, but not limited to, Dell and Lenovo
products
. Leading process improvement efforts
. Training staff and employees on various technology
. Prioritizing and scheduling IT requests
. Documenting new and existing process and procedures for internal and end user use
. Responding to incoming I incidents and requests via walk-ups, phone or email
. Continuously informing the end user on the progress of the resolution, keeping ownership throughout the
ticket resolution and always following up with the end user prior to closing the support ticket to ensure
customer satisfaction
. Escalating unresolved issues to proper personnel after having conducted initial investigation and
implemented initial solution steps
. Setting up requested IT equipment (video, audio, or telecommunication) for meetings and conferences
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT Support related role
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and mobile device issues
Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain Microsoft Windows 10
A+ Certification required
Experience resolving basic network issues
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
Experience using remote connectivity to fix PC issues
Ability to lift equipment, crawl under desks and install servers/UPS/firewalls in racks
Configuration knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe and related software packages
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Network + certification
Working knowledge of video conferencing, Audio, telecommunication equipment, and other VOIP equipment
PBX experience
