Job Description
An employer is seeking 2 100% backend java developers to join one of our largest national financial services clients to support several applications used to expand their newer banking division. In this role you'll join a growing team of 4 individuals and will develop new code and enhance this existing application. This banking application went live in January of 2025, and this team is in the process of doing a 2.0 release to go out in July. Once that's complete, there is supplemental parallel work that needs to be completed to ensure the business is on track to hit their goals. You may be assigned to support this specific banking application, or net new products this team is working to release depending on bandwidth and priorities. In order to be successful on this team you must be comfortable going on site 4 days per week to their downtown Minneapolis location. This team typically works from home on Fridays. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and enhance software applications by creating and revising code, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions based on defined user requirements and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure alignment with project objectives, and deliver optimal solutions while adhering to established procedures and standards.
• Participate in testing and debugging processes, ensuring the accuracy and functionality of software programs, and providing support for production deployment.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of project phases, offering recommendations on tools, processes, and methods to improve efficiency and meet operational goals.
• Execute software development tasks requiring moderate to advanced expertise and judgement to drive outcomes.
• Apply independent decisions, typically guided by previous experience and knowledge to manage some ambiguity and deliver measurable impact on productivity.
• Generate ideas to enhance processes within own work area and resolves business, operational and technical software development related problems within scope of responsibility.
• Foster and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including team members, managers, and clients to achieve department or functional goals and drives innovation.

Required Skills & Experience
-5-10 years of experience working as a java developer
-Solid background utilizing Sql, specifically Sql Datastore
-Spring boot experience
-Solid background within the SDLC and within CI/CD
-Prior experience working with Jira / Confluence
-Strong understanding of API integrations
-Ability to commute to their location in downtown Minneapolis 4/5 days per week
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Prior experience supporting a financial client, ideally a banking client
-Kafka experience
-Hands on experience with OCP / Open Shift
