Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Insight Global is hiring a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor within the machine shop to support a standalone, high‑mix machining environment. This position requires a leader who has come up through the machine shop, ideally beginning as a machinist and progressing into supervisory roles. The Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day shop operations, ensuring high‑quality output, cost control, and adherence to ISO standards while driving both immediate production needs and ongoing improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the machine shop, assign work, and monitor schedule performance
- Implement short‑term operational solutions supporting departmental and corporate objectives
- Maintain processes to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and ISO 9001 compliance
- Ensure all machining output meets engineering, project‑specific, and industry quality requirements
- Monitor and control production costs; lead corrective actions and continuous cost‑improvement initiatives
- Establish and track performance metrics; identify and execute process and quality improvements
- Adjust staffing levels based on demand using internal staff, contractors, or direct hiring
- Maintain training plans and ensure operators and machinists are fully qualified
- Manage performance development, coaching, and employee engagement
- Serve as the primary representative of the machine shop and collaborate with internal/external teams

- 4+ years of applicable experience in a machine shop, including 1+ year in a lead/supervisory role
- Must have direct hands-on experience working IN a machine shop (machinist background strongly preferred)
- Experience supervising in a high‑mix machining environment with frequent part changeovers
- Experience managing production schedules, delegating work, and executing corrective actions
- Experience ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and engineering/industry quality standards
- Proven ability to manage production costs, monitor performance metrics, and drive improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable technical discipline (or Associate’s with additional experience)

- 3–5 years of supervisor experience in a high‑mix machine shop
- Experience partnering with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Experience with kanban-based operations
