Job Description
The Sr. Cybersecurity Data Analyst supports the organization’s data protection and lifecycle management program by analyzing, coordinating, and overseeing activities that safeguard sensitive information. This role focuses on understanding where data resides, how long it is retained, and when it should be defensibly deleted while partnering closely with technical, legal, privacy, and business teams. Key responsibilities include reviewing data discovery outputs to assess risk and improper storage, documenting data locations and lifecycle concerns, and collaborating with system owners to validate and remediate issues. The position also supports the implementation and governance of data retention schedules, assists with audits and regulatory inquiries, and coordinates defensible data deletion efforts while tracking progress and maintaining evidence for compliance. Additionally, the analyst contributes to data governance frameworks, develops reporting and dashboards to highlight data risk and lifecycle posture, and serves as a liaison across IT, Security, Privacy, Compliance, and business stakeholders to promote strong data safeguarding practices.
