Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an experienced professional to lead a Second Line of Defense team focused on enterprise data governance, records retention, and data protection for a major financial client. This role will unify information handling and protection under a comprehensive framework, ensuring compliance and risk management across the organization. As the Information Handling and Protection Manager, you will oversee data governance aligned with industry standards (Basel BCBS 239, COBIT, ISO 20022) and regulations such as SOX, Dodd-Frank, GDPR, and GLBA. Responsibilities include enforcing governance policies, maintaining data quality and lineage, defining ownership, and monitoring compliance. You will also implement data protection strategies—encryption, access controls, breach response—and manage records retention policies to ensure proper archiving and disposal. Strong risk management expertise, excellent communication skills for audit-style documentation, and the ability to engage with senior leaders are essential.
This is a full-time, 5 days onsite role in the Twin Cities, Chicago, Indianapolis, or Evansville.

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelors degree in data analytics, information security, risk management, or related field.
-7-10 years experience in data governance and 3-5 years in data protection.
-Experience serving as Subject Matter Expert owning Data Governance Processes.
-Experience in highly regulated industries (i.e. Finance, Healthcare, etc). Financial industry preferred.
-Technical proficiency with Databricks and Power BI
-Azure and AWS cloud knowledge
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Records management experience and program-building -from the ground up.
-Team-oriented with ability to engage with senior leaders across organization.
-Strong communication and writing skills (risk assessments, audit-style documentation.
