An employer is looking for a highly-skilled Financial Data Management Sr Business Analyst to join one of our largest national healthcare clients for a remote opportunity. In this role you'll join a growing team, and work to identify the source of truth for how data is ingested through their claims process. In order to do this you'll conduct interviews with accountants internal to this organization who process these claims to understand how their data is ingested, to then more effectively outline a data ingestion claims adjudication process. Ultimately, this team is intending to use these findings to have more clean and organized data, and more effectively use predictive analytics to forecast within their business in the future.
In order to be successful on this team you must have some sort of accounting background in order to effectively communicates with the accountants who you'll interview, and have recent experience working within the healthcare industry. You also must be professionally persistent in order to demonstrate why taking these interviews will ultimately help the accounting team in the long run, so you can effectively gather requirements across the business. Prior experience working with Smartview will also help you be successful on this team.
This client has team members in both Boston and MN, therefore if you live in either of those areas and can commute to their office location you'll have the opportunity to work more cross functionally with team members and stakeholders. Otherwise, this role is fully remote in the continental US.
Responsibilities:
-Ability to quickly build proficiency with a range of general and specialized applications used in the organization such as accounting tools and databases.
-Use effective data analytics skills to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems on complex accounting data sets.
-Work with development and management team to identify improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies to support accounting standards.
-Facilitate and coordinate the process of gathering and documenting requirements from the accounting and finance organization, assist on the creation of system design documents and work with IT team to complete requirements.
-Oversee the management of processes that have been deployed, including assessing and prioritizing enhancements.
-Respond to issues encountered by accounting teams, recommend and communicate corrective actions or changes, report those requiring developer involvement, and assist development in issue resolution.
-Create documentation that allows stakeholders to understand thesteps of the data analysis processand duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.
-Document current state business processes with respect to an internally developed accounting system, including automation, exception handling, and issue resolution.
-Develop, document, and implement test plans with respect to the functional requirements of technical systems and/or upgrades to existing systems.

-Prior experience working as a process focused business analyst
-Relevant experience in finance, accounting, computer science, data analytics, or similar field
-At least 2+ years of Accounting or Finance / Data Analytics experience
-Advanced understanding of accounting controls, processes, and procedures
-A basic understanding of proper requirements specification and development, such as process / functional requirements definition methods, use case development, process flow diagrams, etc.
-Advanced analytic, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
-Experience with financial systems infrastructure, system implementation and on-going support

-Exceptional communication skills to engage various audiences across the organization
-Knowledge of Microsoft applications suite and other technical / database structure (i.e. Microsoft SQL, PeopleSoft, Smartview, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, Azure, Data Bricks, etc.)
-Systematic and logical approach to problem-solving
