An employer is looking for a highly skilled remote data quality steward to join one of our largest national healthcare clients. In this role youll work to reconcile diverse client identifiers across PBM systems to create master client identity records. These master IDs are critical in delivering new client reporting and driving automation in AI-driven analytics projects. In this role youll be part of a team of three data stewards reporting to a data governance leader for a project. In order to be successful on this team this candidate will have a deep expertise within the PBM industry and a thorough understanding of RxClaim client structure (Carrier Account Groups - CAGs). Experience with master data management tools, data structures, and systems is essential. This Data Steward will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a strategic understanding of how effective data management drives overall business success. This role is currently approved as a 6 month-contract-to-hire role, with conversion dependent on performance.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Quality Assurance
Define data elements and establish policies and procedures for data collection.
Coordinate with different departments to identify and understand their data requirements.
Maintain and ensure the quality, integrity, and compliance of data across the organization.
Conduct regular data audits to verify data accuracy and integrity.
Resolve data issues and discrepancies and ensure data consistency.
Data Management and Standards
Oversee data migration, transformation, and validation processes.
Implement data standards, rules, and quality requirements.
Develop and maintain data catalogs, dictionaries, and taxonomies.
Provide support for data warehousing, mining, and distribution.
Compliance and Training
Implement data privacy policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
Advise and train staff on data management and quality principles.
Client and Organizational Alignment
Talk to Account Managers to understand client needs and data requirements.
Understand Carrier Account Group (CAG) plan structure to ensure data alignment with organizational goals.
Use tools to create specific client populations, verify data accuracy, and ensure attention to detail.
Benchmarking and Performance Evaluation
Identify meaningful comparison benchmarks to evaluate data quality and performance.
Identify and manage relevant benchmarks by working with client managers to create relevant comparison groups based on desired characteristics or comparison plans. This might include similar plan design, similar industry, member/patient characteristics, drug class exclusions, and inclusions.

-2-5 years in data management, governance, or analysis roles.
-Experience in the PBM industry and familiarity with Optum's RxClaim client structure (Carrier Account -Groups - CAGs).

-Ability to facilitate collaboration between IT and business units.

-Experience working with IT on development roadmap
-Strong understanding of database management systems, SQL, and data warehousing.
-In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and data configuration.
-Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
-Experience in leading data governance initiatives and driving a data-driven culture.
-Ability to manage data compliance with regulations and promote ethical data handling practices.
-Familiarity in data governance and quality tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation.
