Job Description

The role of Site Lead Engineer is to critically ensure that all engineering aspects related to maintenance, infrastructure, and capital across the plant are fit for purpose. These responsibilities are to enable site operations to not only achieve business needs but also remain in compliance with all relevant legislation and relevant company procedures and standards.

Responsibilities:
- to lead, mentor, and enforce site EHS procedures/ practices and ensure site compliance to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- to act as key member of site leadership team helping to ensure achievement of all production targets to satisfy business needs.
- as the local custodian of all national, regional legal and company engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliant site operations.
- to develop, monitor, and align and be the site liaison on all issues relevant to the site capital program and equipment handover to drive site engagement, meet engineering standards and meet financial goals.
- to create and develop all aspects of the site engineering organization and personnel skill sets to meet changing business goals.
- to ensure engineering personnel at all levels are recruited, fully competent, trained and supervised to operate within all relevant legislation and standards.
- to provide and lead engineering planning of the site infrastructure ensuring availability to meet business requirements.
- to develop, lead, and improve site mechanical integrity, site automation and overall controls strategy, processes, and systems.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field
- 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer, working in a plant environment
- 3 years of leadership experience, leading Controls/Automation Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Electrical Engineers in a manufacturing/plant environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical codes and regulations in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with a Mechanical Integrity Program, working with cross functional teams and SMEs to ensure mechanical codes and regulations are being implemented and followed.
- Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and ability to be the bridge between technical teams and the business. Communicate effectively with stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience leading/mentoring a team of 11 people or more
- Osha 30 certification
- Refinery Industry experience
