Job Description

An employer is looking for a GIS Project Manager to join one of our top Utility clients in the Nation. The Project Manager will be joining their Field Mobile GIS project delivery team and assisting in replacing their current FieldSmart software with a new solution. This candidate will be helping to manage the SOW creation process for a new 3rd party vendor as well as managing the vendor relationship. They will lead the project planning effort, including the definition of the deliverables and the required delivery dates, creation of a logical work breakdown structure, definition of major project milestones, accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates. We need someone with strong communication skills and the ability to drive project deadlines as well as handle all execution. There are expectations that this resource can think ahead when in meetings with stakeholders and understand questions that could be asked as well as preparation with potential answers for the Steering Committees. Across the enterprise this group has a lot of momentum going into 2023 and 2024 with Geospatial Systems and functions at the forefront of creating more efficient work processes for the teams in the field! This project is just kicking off and you will be joining at the very beginning to be a part of an awesome team who is ready to hit the ground running!

Required Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of experience in a Technical Project Management role with management of $3 million project budget or greater

- Relevant experience managing GIS (geospatial) projects

- Proven vendor management experience working through the RFP process, SOW creation, financial control, and effectively driving vendor to meet commitments.

- Previous Application Delivery or Software Delivery experience

- Experience to navigate an entire project within the SDLC from inception to deployment

- Previous experience working within an Enterprise and highly matrixed environment

- Excellent communication skills and a strong ethical backbone

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Utility experience

- Experience with application development, in place technical upgrades of COTS applications and geospatial projects.
