Job Description

An employer is looking for a highly-skilled Data Engineer to join one of our largest national healthcare clients for a remote opportunity. In this role you will be responsible for managing the data migration from Netezza to Azure Data Bricks / Azure Data Factory. You will be joining a team of 3 onshore developers, 2 offshore developers, and 1 project manager. Additionally, you will be working with offshore developers to understand existing SAS coding, understand the data structure in the new Azure environment, understand the needs of internal customers for reports, and converting SAS reports to Azure data factory and data bricks with Excel and PowerBI outputs.



Key Responsibilities:

-Manage the data migration process from Netezza to Azure Data Bricks and Azure Data Factory.

-Migrate reports from SAS to Power BI.

-Develop and implement data migration plans and strategies.

-Analyze data and provide insights to optimize the migration process.

-Collaborate with the team to ensure that the migration process is completed efficiently and effectively.

-Provide regular updates on the progress of the migration process to the team and management.

Required Skills & Experience

-At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

-5 years of experience with data warehousing and ETL

-Expertise in Azure Data Bricks and Azure Data Factory.

-Experience with Power BI.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

-Ability to work independently and remotely.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Healthcare experience

-Experience with Azure Synapse, Apache Spark, and Python
