Optum Messaging Services is a communications platform that provides APIs for SMS and Secure messaging capabilities for UHG applications. SMS management and fulfillment service intended to centralize text communications between UHG and customers. As part of our Optum Messaging Services team in this role you will play a significant part in supporting SMS Manager platform. You will interact with external communication vendor APIs in expanding platform capabilities. This team provides great opportunity for growth in cloud development.

Healthcare background is desirable but not a requirement.
Ideal candidate would be one who can lead with design and hands-on implementation for delivering Azure cloud solutions
Experience developing highly scalable REST APIs

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead development and architecture for capabilities in Foundational Capabilities suite of products

Design and build innovative technology in a large distributed cloud environment and drive fundamental change in healthcare industry

Build technology that is performant scalable fault tolerant cost effective and easy to operate and use

Drive engineering excellence and be a technology leader in the organization

Design and code the right solution that start off as broadly defined problems

Drive alignment by partnering with product managers and stakeholders and implement solutions that integrate with larger Optum ecosystem and platform

Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software

Required Qualifications

5 years of professional work experience

5 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming Languages like Java Python C# etc.

3 years of experience working with Cloud technologies like Azure AWS

2 years of experience in CI/CD using Jenkins Azure DevOps etc.

2 years of experience working with database technology

Experience in operating a cloud based high scale production system

Preferred Qualifications:

System design experience patterns and practices for performant scalable and cost effective microservice based architecture

Experience in cloud infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or similar automation

Experience working with Linux and big data technology

Experience developing front-end software using react or similar technologies

Experience in data pipelines and data integration

Experience working in healthcare domain
Adept at thinking abstractly and handling complex problems

What will the interview process look like
Interview will be technical deep dive related to their experience. Format will be video. Two rounds of interviews
