Job Description
• Oversee all freight and transportation operations for the facility.
• Manage driver performance, coaching, hiring, onboarding, and retention.
• Partner with third-party recruiting agencies to support driver hiring efforts.
• Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and safety compliance standards are met.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective action plans.
• Monitor transportation metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Use business systems and reporting tools to analyze performance and make recommendations.
• Coordinate deliveries and logistics priorities with manufacturing and supply chain teams.
• Partner with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance.
• Participate in plant leadership meetings and transportation planning discussions.
• Support driver development through ride-alongs and coaching initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
• 4+ years of transportation, logistics, freight, fleet, or distribution management experience.
• Direct leadership experience managing drivers and transportation operations.
• Experience managing a department, not just dispatching or coordinating shipments.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA and State DOT regulations.
• Experience handling safety, compliance, accident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Strong systems aptitude with the ability to leverage transportation data to drive improvements.
• Comfortable working with reporting tools, operational metrics, and transportation technology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
