Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Thermal Test Validation Engineer to support the validation, automation, and reliability testing of Tesla's advanced thermal management systems used across vehicle batteries, power electronics, cooling architectures, and onboard computing systems. This individual will operate at the intersection of hardware and software, owning thermal test setups, developing automated test solutions, collecting and analyzing data, and troubleshooting failures to ensure system performance and reliability.
This role is highly hands-on and well-suited for an engineer who enjoys working directly with testing hardware while also leveraging software tools to automate testing and improve efficiency. The engineer will work closely with technicians and cross-functional engineering teams to build, maintain, and execute test plans while supporting thermal system development throughout the product lifecycle.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Participate in daily standups and coordinate testing activities with engineering teams and technicians
- Own and manage thermal test setups, ensuring systems are operating correctly and efficiently
- Assign tasks to technicians and monitor testing progress
- Design, wire, and configure test benches for thermal hardware validation
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python or other programming languages
- Collect, process, and analyze test data to evaluate system performance
- Integrate and troubleshoot CAN communication networks during testing
- Support testing and validation of heat pumps, coolant pumps, condensers, converters, and other thermal components
- Perform debugging and root cause analysis on test failures and hardware/software issues
- Coordinate equipment procurement and integration into new or existing test setups
- Document findings and communicate test results to cross-functional engineering teams
