Job Description
Day to Day:
This individual will be responsible for driving growth within the defense and government sector by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding the company's presence across military and defense programs. They will engage directly with government customers, prime contractors, and industry partners to understand upcoming requirements, position solutions, and support capture efforts. The Business Development Manager will work closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to align customer needs with technical capabilities, support proposal development, track market trends, and develop long-term growth strategies within the defense marketplace. The ideal candidate is highly connected within the defense industry, understands government acquisition processes, and has a proven history of winning and growing business in complex technical environments.
Compensation:
Up to $250k OTE

Required Skills & Experience
Must Have:
• 8+ years of experience within the military, defense, aerospace, or government contracting industry
• Experience in business development, sales, engineering, program management, or procurement related to technical products and systems
• Proven track record developing relationships with U.S. government customers, defense contractors, or DoD stakeholders
• Strong understanding of government contracting processes, requirements, and acquisition cycles
• Experience working in ITAR/EAR-controlled environments
• Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and product teams
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience with hydraulics, motion control, electric drives, actuation systems, or related industrial technologies
• Existing relationships within the Department of Defense, military branches, prime contractors, or defense integrators
• Capture management, strategic growth, or government sales experience
• Background supporting defense systems, military vehicle programs, aerospace applications, or other mission-critical technologies
Technical degree in Engineering or related field
