Job Description

As the Assembly Group Leader, you will oversee a team of approximately 20–30 employees in a major automotive OEM's production/assembly environment. This role focuses on people leadership, operational execution, and ensuring business metrics are met. You will be responsible for driving safety, attendance, and performance while operating with strong decision-making and leadership presence on the floor.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of 20–30 hourly employees on the assembly line
• Oversee daily operations including timekeeping, attendance, and shift execution
• Conduct safety checks and ensure a safe working environment
• Track and report on production data and performance metrics weekly
• Manage absenteeism and enforce accountability across the team
• Ensure employees are accurately paid and time is properly recorded
• Drive compliance with business goals and plant standards
• Make decisions in fast-paced, ambiguous situations to support production needs
Maintain strong presence on the floor and hold team members accountable


Compensation:
$30/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–2+ years of experience leading teams of 20-30 employees in a manufacturing/production environment and working with and leading UAW or union-represented employees
• Strong managerial courage – ability to hold firm when working with hourly/trades employees
• Experience managing attendance, timekeeping, and workforce accountability
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced production environments
• Business-minded leadership approach (less technical focus)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Automotive OEM experience
• Exposure to production/assembly line environments
• Experience with safety audits and compliance
