Job Description
Serve as the first line of defense for complex EV system issues within the CE1 program, performing rapid triage, cross-functional coordination, and data-driven problem solving to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance vehicle operation. Build and maintain program-level triage knowledge bases to scale across multiple vehicle platforms.
What you’ll be able to do:
• Act as the primary triage point for advanced EV system issues across E/E architecture, HV propulsion, software/firmware, and safety domains within CE1.
• Verify reproducibility of symptoms; assess field vs. lab data for safety implications; clearly bound the scope to prevent harm.
• Gather and align data: logs (CAN, Ethernet, serial), diagnostic trouble codes, BMS history, thermal trends, charging data, OTA history, and variant information.
• Design controlled reproduction steps or data-window analyses, document assumptions and limitations.
• Propose non-invasive checks first; specify required data, traces, bench tests, and sequence tests by likelihood and risk.
• Use structured methods (fault trees, 5 Whys, 8D) to connect symptoms to root causes; identify latent failure modes and environmental factors.
• Lead and coordinate with hardware, software, powertrain, thermal, safety, and cybersecurity teams; drive concise briefs, handoffs, and decision records.
• Produce concise triage briefs, RCA summaries, and knowledge-base entries; maintain a pattern library of recurring symptom clusters and typical causes.
• Apply a formal risk scoring approach (likelihood x impact) to determine escalation paths to appropriate domains and management levels.
• Propose immediate mitigations (config/workarounds) and longer-term actions (design changes, software patches, OTA updates).
• Archive evidence, record decisions, and deliver a handoff brief with next steps and owners; ensure downstream teams have clear action items.

• Proficiency with automotive networks (LIN, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet), diagnostic tools, log analysis, and interpretation of system interactions, timing, and environmental impacts.
• Demonstrated ability to perform structured root-cause analysis (fault trees, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) and derive actionable steps from partial data.
• Experience with OTA/update processes, software versioning, traceability, and baseline/fault-change management.
• Foundational knowledge of ISO 26262/ASIL concepts and basic automotive cybersecurity practices relevant to vehicle systems.
