Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Cook to support a community kitchen and cafeteria. This individual will be responsible for preparing and serving daily meals while ensuring all food is handled in a safe, sanitary, and efficient manner.
This is a hands-on role supporting high-volume meal service (100–125 individuals daily) and requires someone who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about providing quality meals in a community-focused setting.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve CACFP-approved meals on a daily basis
Support meal service for 100–125 individuals in a cafeteria-style setting
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, prep areas, and serving space
Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature controls
Monitor food inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to leadership
Assist with food supply stocking and inventory organization
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use
Clean and organize the walk-in freezer on a twice-weekly basis
Partner with volunteer groups assisting with meal service
Serve meals in a timely, safe, and professional manner
Follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and health regulations
Maintain respectful and professional communication with staff, guests, and vendors

Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of prior kitchen or food service experience (high-volume or institutional preferred)
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen operations
Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately
Strong organizational and time management skills
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
ServSafe certification
Experience working with CACFP programs
Previous experience in a community kitchen, nonprofit, or cafeteria setting
