Job Description

A commercial aviation company is hiring an early career Manufacturing Engineer to support a new saftey device acquired by the company called Thermal Switch, for their aviation aftermarket sector focused on avionics repair and electronics refurbishment. The organization has shifted to a value stream business unit, which will require added Manufacturing engineering talent.This ME role will work side by side the current Mechanical Engineer resource as an "understudy" to eventually take on and own the floor responsibilities. Will Partner with Mechanical Design Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and scalable, owning DFM/DFA decisions and translating design intent into repeatable production processes.” the mechanical engineer needs to pass over so they can focus on design soley. focuses on preventing issues through design and standard work, while providing structured support to resolve production constraints and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Can speak to experience using Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma problem solving and improvement methods/tools.
Industrial design, process design and capacity modeling experience.
Hands on support of production operations (assembly, machining, fabrication, or test)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in Aerospace and Defense regulated manufacturing environments. Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality processes.
Experience in working with SAP/ERP, MES and digital work instruction systems.
Experience in Autocad for Facility Layout planning and control.
Formal Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma training.
Demonstrated experience implementing process automation and application of AI tools in the manufacturing environment.
