Job Description
The Controls Engineer will support day‑to‑day plant operations for a large automotive OEM's manufacturing facility, providing hands‑on controls and automation support for CNC equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and supporting automation systems. This role is heavily plant‑floor focused and works closely with maintenance, IT, vendors, and production teams to keep equipment running and resolve breakdowns efficiently.
Production & Plant Support
• Support maintenance with troubleshooting CNC mills
• Assist with PLC and HMI startup and recovery
• Provide day‑to‑day plant floor support for equipment breakdowns
• Support minor equipment installation projects
Controls & Automation
• Troubleshoot PLC and HMI issues (Rockwell / Siemens environments)
• Support Bauer test equipment
• Provide support for FANUC robots as needed
Cross‑Functional & Vendor Interaction
• Communicate and coordinate with IT
• Contact and work with equipment vendors to get technical answers when needed
Compensation:
$40/hr to $55/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience with Rockwell PLC logic
• Siemens HMI programming experience
• Familiarity working on controls projects / OEM standards
• CNC experience
• Strong PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to be hands‑on and work directly on the plant floor
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Prior GM plant or project experience
• Controls Engineer with M‑TEC training
• GCCH training or exposure
