Job Description

AN employer in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Project Geologist for a top environmental consulting client. This individual will lead and manage environmental investigation projects, balancing technical execution with client-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable in the field, confident managing project budgets and schedules, and skilled at coordinating multidisciplinary teams. D2D:
- Manage environmental site investigation projects from planning through execution
- Prepare and oversee: Work plans, Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) plans, and technical reports
- Coordinate and oversee: Field scientists, Engineers. and Environmental technicians
- Track project - Budgets, Labor hours, Expenses, and Change orders
- Facilitate client meetings
- Support proposal development and work with internal team
- Manage project timelines effectively

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree (Environmental Science, Geology Natural Resource Management, Environmental / Geotechnical Engineering or related fields)
- Prior environmental consulting experience (not lab-only)
- 4+ years' Experience with Environmental site investigations, Soil sampling, and environmental sampling
- 5+ Project management experience
- Clean and Valid driver’s license
- Eligible to work on state-regulated sites

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Master’s degree
- PG (Professional Geologist) certification
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Experience working on Michigan-based projects
- Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
