Job Description

DAY‑TO‑DAY / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Process Engineer supports robotic turnkey automation projects within our client’s Automation Systems Group (ASG), ensuring the form, fit, and function of integrated systems from proposal through manufacturing and customer buyoff.

Project & Engineering Execution
• Provide proposal support and technical review
• Attend internal and customer project kickoff meetings
• Review project budgets, schedules, and customer specifications
• Develop and maintain detailed technical plans and engineering task lists
• Generate system functionality specifications and work change requests
Mechanical & Process Engineering
• Plan, request, approve, and follow up on mechanical engineering issues including:
○ Equipment layout & arrangement
○ Robot reach, payload analysis, and cycle‑time studies
○ Tolerance studies and mechanical/pneumatic component sizing
○ System sequence‑of‑operations
• Develop and maintain 3D simulations to validate engineering requirements
• Generate robot safety risk assessments
Design & Supplier Coordination
• Identify workcell equipment requiring mechanical design/build
• Coordinate internal and external design resources
• Review supplier quotes and monitor design progress
• Chair design reviews and track open issues
• Coordinate runoff criteria and supplier equipment buyoff
Manufacturing, Field & Customer Support
• Ensure manufacturing has complete integration documentation
• Review and approve floor redline changes
• Support installation, debugging, and customer plant buyoff activities
• Deliver final as‑built documentation packages to customers

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY
• ROBOGUIDE Simulation (preferred)
• AutoCAD
• SolidWorks
• Microsoft Office Suite

TRAVEL / WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Some time spent on shop floor testing and debugging
• Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites
• Approx. 10% travel noted
• Comfortable working in industrial environments
• Overtime as needed to meet customer deadlines

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
• Reliable, consistent attendance
• Ability to work hands‑on with robotic and automation equipment
• Comfortable operating robots, PLCs, and automation systems
• Willingness to support projects through full lifecycle



Compensation:
$45/hr to $50/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong mechanical system knowledge
• Strong technical background in system engineering, design, and integration
• Experience with robotic automation systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a highly autonomous environment
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a project team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to present technical evaluations and recommendations to customers and peers
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field OR equivalent relevant experience
• Valid Passport

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Exposure to ISO‑9000, QS‑9000, and TE Supplement quality systems
• Familiarity with Reliability & Maintainability methods (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, MTTR, MTBF, OEE, Availability)
• Knowledge of 3D simulation and discrete‑event simulation methods
• Experience with ROBOGUIDE simulation
• CAD experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
